Built in 1873 on the lush green and quiet Margaret Island in the centre of Budapest, the Ensana Grand Margaret Island offers a spacious spa area with a selection of treatments.

A heated underground corridor connects the hotel to the neighbouring Ensana Thermal Margaret Island, which features one of Europe's top health spas.

A hot tub, 2 pools, and various saunas and beauty treatments can be enjoyed there. The diagnostic section features various therapeutic treatments. Guests can access the spa area free of charge.

The Széchenyi Restaurant offers fine dining with magnificent views of the park. International, domestic and diet cuisine, with a wide selection of Hungary's best wines, are served. Outdoor dining can be enjoyed in summer on the terrace and in the garden. In the evenings, a gypsy orchestra provides entertainment.

The classically furnished rooms overlook the Danube or the magnificent park. They are all air-conditioned and have a minibar.

The island stretches over 4 km and is protected leafy botanical parkland with ancient trees, a Japanese garden, and a rose garden, an open-air amphitheatre, traversed by walking and jogging tracks. Bicycles, horses, carts and electric buggies can be hired to get around. It is only a 15-minute drive away from the centre of Budapest.

What was the highlight of Ensana Grand Margaret Island
Very Good
The room was nice, different style than usual. The location is perfect, was our joice to stay on the Island. Nature around - who love to be in the city, but at the same time surrounded by river and park.
SPA was not bad, but the message was low-level. First, employees made a wrong booking for 2, they said that would be the same room, at the end they do not have rooms for couples. Second, I felt like I had a student making me massage, he was afraid to touch me, and his hands were cold. Third, the room was not cozy, full of light, no spa atmosphere. Use SPA, but do not try massage.

What was the highlight of Ensana Grand Margaret Island
Beautiful hotel, crowded spa
We enjoyed the aesthetic and general vibes of the hotel. The rooms were also very clean and comfortable for their size. The selection of plant based milks at breakfast buffet was also a pleasant surprise. Fitness is also pretty good, good selection of equipment and not too busy.
The biggest problem we encountered was how busy the hotel was (we did visit at seemingly full capacity during Christmas holidays). It was really crowded and sometimes impossible to get the table in the mornings. This problem was even bigger at hotel spa that is shared between hotels. There pools are really small and were super crowded. We checked few times and never went in. We were also a bit disappointed with breakfast options. Other than plant based milk and cereal there was not much for vegans to choose from.

Overall nice staying.
Very nice location on a beautiful island, delicious breakfast.
Our room was separated with the neighbor room only with a door and you could literally hear everything. It was really annoying and the neighbors had also loud children. Spa was quite crowded. Car parking around hotel could be free for hotel guests.

What was the highlight of Ensana Grand Margaret Island
Wonderful
Good room size, wonderful spa access, quiet location, bus stop right behind the hotel. It's very hard to get ready for a walk in the city after relaxation in the thermal water pools :) (there are 3 with water temperature up to 38 degrees).
Average breakfast, unfortunately very bad coffee. The machine wasn't fixed even after guests complains. Good dining options (in February) are mostly on mainland.
